Event Description
The show, UnRuly Cloth, opens October 22nd at the Gage Gallery, 19 Bastion Square. Opening Celebration will take place on Friday October 25th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. There will be an artists’ talk on Monday November 4th, 11:00 – 12:00. Since ancient times, cloth has protected us from the elements and decorated our homes. It has provided comfort and been a vehicle for our creativity. In this show Neera Huckvale and Elizabeth Carefoot bring together modern and traditional techniques such as stitchery, quilting and fabric to create unique and innovative works. The pieces range in size from seven feet by seven feet to four inches by four inches. The materials vary from silk, cotton, canvas, leather, beads and amulets.
