Event Description

The VCC Jazz Orchestra and the VCC Pre-Bop Jazz Band, both directed by Alan Matheson, present an eclectic evening of jazz. This concert will run the gamut from traditional jazz classics made famous by King Oliver and Jelly Roll Morton to the progressive jazz sounds of Stan Kenton and Woody Herman. Some of the talented VCC musicians to be featured include vocalists Elizabeth Berwick, Bahiyyih Bahbahani and Lana Pitre, as well as pianist Joseph Hirabayashi and bassist Justine Fischer. This will be an exciting evening for anyone who loves jazz in all its forms.
