You’d be hard-pressed to find an individual doing more to shed light on the illustrious past and vibrant present of ska music than Aaron Carnes. Through his acclaimed book, and podcast of the same name, In Defense of Ska, Carnes’ work is a wonderful entry point for those uninitiated in the world of ska and a powerful reminder for those who already love the genre. His roster of guests is exciting and diverse, touching all over the world of ska, including comedian Margaret Cho, musical luminaries like Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Eugene Hütz (Gogol Bordello), Stuart Copeland (The Police) and rapper Open Mike Eagle.
