In honor of our African heritage and Black Lives Matter Pablo Cardenas and Victoria Event Centre present "Afro-Cuban Portrait" The history of Afro-Cuban folklore is directly related to the exploitation of Africans that was force to come to Cuba as slaves, despite that sad reality they created incredible music, an endless universe of percussive melodies, melodic rhythms and unique dances. This became a big part of what it is today Cuban culture. “Afro-Cuban Portrait” is a tribute to Africa, Cuba and a way to express the intention of the West Coast Cuban community of musicians to support the continuation of the fight for the end of discrimination of blacks and indigenous population in Canada, North America, Caribbean, Central and South America, and everywhere, along with the end o... more...
