Victoria’s premier Klezmer band is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary!!! After hundreds of gigs we’ve decided we’re still meshuga (crazy) for our special brand of brassy upbeat, Klezmer Swing and each other! The Yiddish Columbia State Orchestra is: Marion Siegel- vocals Michael Mazza- trumpet Nick LaRiviere- trombone Julien Vitek- violin Rod McCrimmon- accordion Avram McCagherty- guitar Doug Rhodes- bass The YCSO owes much of its performance style to the Yiddish musical theater and radio shows that evolved on the lower Eastside of New York to the roughly two million Eastern European Jews who came to the New World in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
