Event Description
The Kelly Green Kollective (KGK) are comprised of Victoria-based painters Roy Green and PJ Kelly. Their works are distinctly non-minimal and post-conceptual as art-historical and popular culture imagery collides with abstract strategies and textual elements creating a reservoir of painterly pleasure and visual provocation. The KGK hope to engulf the viewer in their quantum jungle of tactile data extrapolating a tantric sensorium of the endearingly preposterous and the strategically inexplicable. Layers of acrylic, ink and collage intermingle on the decorated rectangles of canvas or paper. As they are not yet ready to repair the fabric of our national discourse, they nonetheless are committed to their vision of excess, proud to be the industrious dung- beetles of the Victoria art world.
