Event Description
Classical guitar virtuoso Alexander Dunn and guests present a unique concert of string music. UVic’s graduate string quartet, Cuarteto Chroma, Victoria Conservatory of Music faculty violinists, Simon MacDonald and David Visentin, plus Lafayette String Quartet violinist Ann Elliott-Goldschmid and cellist Pamela Highbaugh Aloni will all share the stage for this Faculty Concert Series event. Familiar masterworks will be paired with some unknown gems on a program which includes Cuarteto de Cuerdas by Victoria guitarist and composer, Liova Bueno (MMus ’12) as well as Quintetto for Guitar & Strings by Leo Brouwer, Cuba’s musical treasure. You’ll also hear Felix Mendelssohn’s magnificent Octet Op. 20, a stunning achievement for the composer who was only 16 years old at the time... more...Venue
