There is a big island not far from here called Vancouver Island. Some people never heard of it, some think it's a whole other Country, others think it's the same thing as the City of Vancouver and some even flat out refuse to believe that it actually exists. To get to the rest of Canada from this island, one has to take a hellishly expensive boat ride on what can best be described as a floating loser-cruiser. Keeping in line with BC's outmoded and somewhat Victorian attitudes towards alcohol, there is no booze on these boats. As I found out the hard way a while back , they don't sell cigarettes either (but you can buy some shitty burger or 20 dollar plastic Mountie).
