Event Description
Pacific Peoples’ Partnership (PPP) is hosting the 7th annual One Wave Festival on Friday September 19th and Saturday September 20th. One Wave is PPP’s inspired action to celebrate and honor connections to the Pacific while building identity and community. The purpose of One Wave is to engage individuals to create one movement amongst all peoples to address issues including: cultural integrity, language loss, climate change, ocean pollution, food security, Indigenous identity, racism, and long-term effects of colonialism. These issues will be addressed at the free-admission Changemakers’ Summit on Friday September 19th co-hosted by the Centre for Asia Pacific Initiatives, and held at the University of Victoria Cadboro Commons from 1:00-3:30 PM.
