“Kellylee Evans is a perfect example of musical honesty in its purest form.” - The WholeNote Born in Toronto to Jamaican parents, singer/songwriter Kellylee Evans is an excitingly gifted jazz and soul vocalist who effortlessly incorporates elements of hip-hop and even world beat. Although most performers would kill just to sound like a cross between Sarah Vaughan and Norah Jones, Kellylee is equally compelling as a songwriter. Her self-penned debut CD, 2006’s "Fight or Flight?," was Juno nominated. "The Good Girl," a sophisticated follow-up, was a mix of everything from smooth urban jazz to reggae-dub. Then came her spectacular tribute to Nina Simone, which won her a Juno in 2011.
