Experimental Canadian gothic 4-piece Books and Branches weaves stories of the North with warm musical textures and an idiosyncratic artistry. Fresh from recording the forthcoming full-length Caribou Whispers at the Hive, Colin MacLaine describes his poetic, nuanced, and deeply human music not as songs, but more like postcards you intended to send but you ended up making them into art instead cause you were too lazy to walk down to the drugstore and buy a stamp. The beige is a Vancouver-based quintet known for richly layered songs and instrumentals "heavy on the ambient atmosphere."
