Event Description

The Pacific Baroque Festival continues to showcase world-renowned Canadian artists, this year presenting Teresa Hron, a dazzling virtuoso of the recorder who studied at the Conservatory in Amsterdam under Paul Leenhouts. Teresa will perform two of Vivaldi’s concertos for recorder: “La Tempesta Di Mare” and “Il Gardinello” (the Goldfinch). Teresa, a respected composer herself, will then give us her own creative spin on Vivaldi. The concert will end in a blaze of glory as the Victoria Children’s Choir joins the Pacific Baroque Orchestra in Vivaldi’s “Gloria”. This presentation reflects this work as it would have been performed at the orphanage of the Ospedale della Pieta in Venice where Vivaldi was maestro di violino.
