Event Description
Vancouver Island's Homegrown Reggae & Groove FestivalThe people have demanded it! More Dub, more Reggae, more groovin' world rythyms. And so the Forward Fest was born. Located on Vancouver Island beside the Sooke river, about 30 minutes from Victoria, B.C.
This year we are excited to present Ganga Giri and band from Australia with their unique tribal-technological deep earth dance experience.
We're also happy to be bringing Souljah Fyah, a high-energy female fronted Reggae band out of Edmonton, Alberta with a wicked stage show. Janaya "Sista J" Ellis is the lead vocalist and bassist, and is backed by a solid ensemble of multi talented reggae musicians.
Ten other great live acts, six DJs , family entertainer Alex Elixir and Poi Fire spinners will make this a great two day summer event. There is camping available on site from the Sooke Community Association. This is a beautiful part of the world with many spectacular beaches, trails, and other recreational opportunities.
Please visit www.forwardfest.com for ticket info and band bios etc.
Peace.
