Event Description

Formed in 2001 in Seabright, Nova Scotia by Paul Aucoin. Recorded first record La Nouvelle Gauche in Nova Scotia in Aucoin/Ball/McGuire studio Nervous System Sounds. The record was released by Halifax's Brobdingnagian Label in 2002. The record was mostly performed by writer/recorder Aucoin with the help of Jason Ball (engineer and performer), Dale Murray (pedal steel), Lukas Pearse (double bass and prepared bass), Dave Christensen (woodwinds). Noah Mintz mastered the record and it gave way to the first line up the band. While still living in Nova Scotia and touring/recording with the Sadies, Aucoin formed a mostly Halifax line up the band to support La Nouvelle Gauche.
