On sale Fri, June 2 @ 10am Fresh from his recent sold out Vancouver date, Dallas Green returns for another set of vulnerable, gracefully melodic songs in the guise of City and Colour. Best known as singer and guitarist in St. Catharines band Alexisonfire, Dallas is partly responsible for the acclaimed group’s sound of larynx-shredding screams and metallic riffs set to hardcore tempos. As City and Colour, however, Dallas indulges in a more thoughtful and introspective side that will come as a surprise to many of those familiar with his main project. On songs like the gently admonishing “Save Your Scissors” and the string-backed drama of “Casey’s Song” Green exhibits the kind of skilled songwriting and lyrical tenderness that recalls Jeff Buckley (an admitted influence). ... more...
