Over-the-top missing link between Hawkwind, Chrome and The Stooges!?! Then: From 1973 to 1981 Zolar X gained notoriety on the west coast USA for (seemingly) dressing and acting like space-aliens 24 hours a day! Their outlandish image was matched by strong songwriting, performances, and over the top stage sets. Zolar X were for a time the “house band” at famed rock star hangout Rodney Bingenheimer’s English Disco, and shared stages with Iggy Pop, The New York Dolls, Ray Manzarek, Jobriath, and Silverhead (among others). Kiss would check them out, and Zolar X slugged it out against all odds in the pre-DIY rock scene. Now: Longtime fan Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) released a deluxe edition of Timeless in late 2004.
