Event Description
The first Saturday in May, Neo Jung, commemorates the 125th anniversary of Broken Arrow with a celebration of the music of Neil and Crazy Horse. The Broken Arrow was the gesture made by Crazy Horse, in the spring of 1877, to signify the end of the Great Plains War, between the U.S. Cavalry and the Sioux Nation. An undefeated Crazy Horse emerged after the battle of the Little Big Horn as the undisputed leader of the Sioux/Cheyenne alliance. Though conspiracy and deceit lead to his assassination shortly afterwards, his courage and vision had secured his status as a true North American hero. The spirit of Crazy Horse has carried on as Neil Young’s band since he left Buffalo Springfield at the end of the 60s.Future Farmer recording artist from California David Dondero opens.
