After dazzling more than 300 guests last year, Jubilate Vocal Ensemble will once again be uncorking a full spectrum of musical delights in its second annual production of Winter Light. Led by Music Director Dr. Larry Nickel, the concert will feature a star guest accompanist as well as a choir flush from a category win at the recent Kathaumixw Choral Festival in Powell River. Light-themed pieces from the modern era will include McCartney’s I’ll Follow the Sun, Cat Stevens’ Moon Shadow, and two different takes on Northern Lights: one by Swede Ola Gjeilo, the other by Latvian Eriks Esenvalds featuring hand bells and wine glasses.
