Taking afternoon tea has long been a tradition in the English speaking world and Vancouver Island is no exception. Join the Orchestra in a popular programme of light music complete with a tea of scones, cream and strawberry jam. "There's nothing quite like a cuppa!" Joanne Hounsell, soprano - Joanne Hounsell was educated at Mount Allison University, Toronto University and UBC. She has appeared with most Canadian Orchestras in performances of Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Orff's Carmina Burana and Verdi's Requiem as well as the more light hearted Symphony Pops. Her operatic roles include The Marriage of Figaro, The Turn of the Screw and The Merry Widow for L'Opera de Montreal, Pacific Opera and the Canadian Opera Company.
