The North Vancouver native, now New York City-based Laila Biali is fast becoming the new face of contemporary jazz. Juno nominated for her latest release, Tracing Light, she has already showcased her music a world venues (Carnegie Hall, the acclaimed North Sea Jazz Festival n the Netherlands, Tokyo Cotton Club) – evidence that her compositions, playing and singing are garnering not only national, but world-wide attention.
