About Paper Beat Scissors: www.myspace.com/paperbeatscissors Paper Beat Scissors spawned from the bedroom compositions of uprooted-Brit Tim Crabtree. The music centres around finger-picked guitar and haunted vocals. The lyrical themes, often obsessing on communication-breakdown, become blocked and unclear as the voice melds into the instrumentation, occasionally cutting to the forefront with a clear, scattered image. Performing these songs live a collective has formed around Tim. The sonic possibilities are broadened through orchestral instrumentation, electronic sampling, processing and beat generation, and a desire to use anything close at hand as an instrument (bags of garbage, tables, plastic wrap and abandoned air organs found on the sidewalk).
