On Sunday November 23rd at 8pm at the Belfry Arts Centre there will be an evening of music and songs, poems, photos and reflections, all to support Kato’ki *, the Guatemala Soccer project which is collecting soccer equipment and raising funds to rebuild playing fields for children and communities in Patzun, Guatemala. Kato’Ki means, “Lets help each other” in Cakchiquel, the Mayan language spoken by the people in Patzun. The goal is to raise $5000. Local Victoria youth, Kieran and Manuel Magzul, whose father is from Patzun, will be traveling to Guatemala November 30th with donations of soccer balls and jerseys from local and Nanaimo soccer clubs and educational supplies from South Park and Cordova Bay elementary schools.
