Massline Media's COMMON MARKET are one of the best kept secrets in the Northwest... They are without a doubt one of the most conscious and entertaining underground hip hop groups to hit the Island in some time. They came together in 2005 (Sabzi and RA Scion) from similar backgrounds in their spiritual approach to their music. Sabzi is one-half of the groundbreaking Blue Scholars (who are opening for Hieroglyhpics later this month) and Scion was a well-travelled solo emcee. After collaborating on a couple tracks on RA Scion’s 2004 solo project, Live and Learn, the duo began work in the sweltering heat of an attic-based studio for what would eventually become the 14-track self-titled Common Market LP, released in October 2005.
