Event Description
The Urbana Big Band is returning to the Vancouver Public Library for another afternoon of Swingin’ Jazz, featuring a wide variety of styles from Ellington and Basie classics to contemporary charts by today’s top Canadian and international composers.All the players in Urbana are members of the Arokis Society of Music, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting this wonderful music. Together with their sister big band, Impressions, these talented professional and amateur players have been bringing great sounds to Lower Mainland audiences for over fifteen years.
The Urbana Big Band will be under the direction of renowned local jazz musician and music educator, Robin Shier
