Creatively ambitious from the outset, Mute Math dove headfirst into exploring a new definition on how a rock band should sound and perform. Using homemade instruments and live sampling, the New Orleans band is innovative, soaring, and atmospheric, and builds a captivating soundscape of experimental rock drenched in irresistible hooks. The group’s creativity carries over into self-promotion as well, with ideas like chronicling its shows on a video blog helping to spread Mute Math’s fanbase worldwide. Through word of mouth, the quartet was soon selling out shows in L.A., New York, and Nashville, among other cities.
