on sale fri, dec 15 @ 10am Hinder is an Oklahoma band with old-fashioned values. Old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll values, that is—as in sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll. Extreme Behavior, their Universal debut recorded at Vancouver’s Armoury Studios, is a veritable shrine to those staples, as well as to influences like Bad Company, Aerosmith, Lit and the Rolling Stones. Featuring charismatic, gravelly voiced vocalist Austin Winkler, the nearly five-year-old quintet fires up the guitars and racy lyrics (there are both “clean” and “explicit” versions of the record) on uptempo barn-burners like “Get Stoned” (about great sex with a bad girlfriend), “Room 21” (casual sex) and “Bliss” (not about sex, exactly, but about getting wasted to forget a ruptured relationship). ... more...
