Test kids is the music baby of Peter Byrne and Duncan Booth, long time friends and musicians from Windsor, Ontario now based in Victoria.

Percolating from truly diverse inspirations, their songs brew up a gluey blend of classic vocal harmony and tight tasteful arrangements. The style is engaging and hard to pin down… alt-folk yard sale? The songs lay their hats in many lands, from maudlin country ballads to raucous triumph riffs to ethereal half-light hymns.

What started as an acoustic duo is now bubbling over the edge with banjo, glockenspiel, tiny synthesizers, children’s accordion, stomping tambourines, and most recently drummer Jay Devries and bassist Barton Patrick.

It suits the songs well - woozy yet unfailing in toeing genre borders, they are delivered with a musicality that makes for a one of a kind experience.
