Event Description
on sale fri, 9/29 @ 10amWith his new album ATLANTIS-Hymns for Disco, K-OS is poised for great things. The single “ELEctrik HeaT—the seekwiLL” has become the #1 most downloaded single of the week in iTunes Canada history, and the first official single “Sunday Morning” has been added to many major stations across the country. The hotly anticipated album is scheduled for October release, to be followed by another groundbreaking tour.
The Toronto musician’s first album Exit introduced him as one of Canada’s foremost hip-hop innovators and earned him international recognition. He collaborated with the Chemical Brothers on their hit “Get Yourself High” and toured North America and Europe with India.arie, the Roots, Nelly Furtado and De La Soul. Joyful Rebellion, the follow-up to Exit, was even more successful both critically and commercially. The album entered the Canadian charts at #7 and racked up platinum sales for its mix of socially aware raps, appealing melodies and musical influences ranging from rap to jazz, rock to pop, and blues to reggae. K-OS achieved a number one video for “Crabbuckit” on MuchMusic and two gold digital singles for that song and “Man I Used to Be”, and this year he appeared at the Coachella Festival in Indio, California, alongside artists like Coldplay, Bauhaus and Doves. He was also chosen as CBC’s composer-in-residence.
