“Pull yourself together, man,” howls Underoath lead singer Spencer Chamberlain on the Florida band’s fifth magnum opus. Filled with the questioning rage the group’s fans have come to know and love, Define the Great Line is a career-best summation of the metal, hardcore and screamo formula that has made the eight-year-old six-piece one of the most successful rock ’n’ roll acts of its time. The disc follows the band’s 2004 breakthrough They’re Only Chasing Safety, a record that sold over 350,000 copies worldwide.

Stints with the Vans Warped and the 2005 Taste of Chaos tours followed, paving the way for the sensational chart-topping action of the just-released Define the Great Line. The band has pulled itself together for another Vans Warped Tour this summer prior to its own headlining jaunt to give fans even more Underoath.

Silverstein formed in Burlington, Ontario, on the outskirts of Toronto in 2000. Emerging from the thriving hardcore scene in their hometown, the band began honing their sound, and recording whenever possible. Two EPs followed and a former member of Grade began talking the band up to his friends at Victory Records. The band signed with Victory shortly afterward. They released When Broken Is Easily Fixed which went on to sell over 200,000 copies worldwide, earning the band a spot in Alternative Press' 100 Bands You Need To Know in the spring of 2005. Non-stop touring followed and Silverstein became one of the most talked about bands in the hardcore/emo scene. The band are coming off a slot opening for Fall Out Boy and a spot on the 2006 Warped Tour and look to build on this momentum opening for Underoath on this cross Canada tour this fall.
