1. TWIN BILL: DELVON LAMARR ORGAN TRIO & LOWDOWN BRASS BAND | Friday, June 27 – 7:00pm
“Get on board and bring a friend as [DLO3] generate the fiery funk/soul/jazz heat.” – American Songwriter
“With a blistering array of horns, funktacious drums and a powerful sousaphone, the Chicago-based brass set has also perfected a gritty and dynamic sound through the genres of hip-hop, soul, ska and rock.” – The Fox and King
Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio (DLO3) specializes in the lost art of “feel-good music.” With a mix of the 1960s organ jazz stylings of Jimmy Smith and Baby Face Willette, the snappy soul strut of Booker T. & The M.G.’s, The Meters, and sprinkles of Motown, Stax Records, blues, and cosmic Jimi Hendrix-style guitar, it’s a soul-jazz concoction that goes straight to your heart and makes your body break out in a sweat! The trio has released five albums, with an upcoming album set to release on Blue Note Records. Last appearing at TD JazzFest 2022, the band is virtuosic organist Delvon Lamarr, with Ashley Ickes on drums, Brice Calvin on guitar.
Embodying the vibrant Chicago music culture, LowDown Brass Band is a one-of-a-kind horn ensemble weaving the rhythm of the streets with conscious hip hop, reggae, and soul. The band last played at TD JazzFest in 2023, and have proven to be a high energy, dance-orientated performance that wows audiences. Their 2024 album $itizens of the World further pushes the boundaries of their genre.
2. SUNGAZER plus Ayla Tesler-Mabe | Saturday, June 28 – 7:00pm
Sungazer is "EDM meets nostalgia meets jazz meets utter genius." – The Prickle
Brooklyn NY’s Sungazer is a modern progressive jazz EDM 5-member band led by bassist Adam Neely and drummer Shawn Crowder, who have brought their dynamic live mixture of jazz, progressive metal and electronic music to audiences across the world. Since their first EP release in 2014, Sungazer has carried the flame of past fusion greats while forging their own distinctive sound for the 21st century. Currently, they have over 350,700 followers on Instagram and 1.78 million subscribers on YouTube. In 2024 they released their sophomore album, Against the Fall of Night.
Vancouver’s Fender guitarist endorsee, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter Ayla Tesler-Mabe gained worldwide recognition at the age of 15 with virtuosic covers of classic songs which have garnered millions of views on YouTube. Her exceptional guitar work and soulful vocals have drawn comparisons to Jimmy Page and Stevie Wonder. She last performed TD JazzFest with Ludic in 2023 and now opens for Sungazer in a riveting performance with her own 5-piece band!
3. THE RUMBLE f. CHIEF JOSEPH BOUDREAUX JR. plus The New Groovement | Sunday, June 29 – 7:00pm
"It’s a Mardi Gras experience that hangs around all year long, a funky, feather rufflin’ extravaganza good for second line strutting no matter the season." – No Depression
New Orleans’ GRAMMY-nominated supergroup The Rumble is more than just a band — it's an opportunity to be immersed in a wholly unique facet of New Orleans culture. Composed of Second Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. of the Golden Eagles, trumpeter Aurélien Barnes, trombonist José Maize Jr., bassist TJ Norris, guitarist Ari Teitel, keyboardist Andriu Yanovski, and drummer Trenton O’Neal, they fuse iconic New Orleans funk in the vein of The Meters and The Neville Brothers with electrifying brass and the singular visual splendor of the Black Masking carnival tradition. The Rumble's recent album, Stories from the Battlefield, received a GRAMMY nomination for “Best Regional Roots Album 2025.” Their live show is a symphony of rich colour and propulsive sound, with each member sharing vocal duties and engaging the audience in the classic Mardi Gras Native-American-style call-and response chanting.
Opening for this evening will be one of Victoria’s best 9-member funk and hip-hop party machines, The New Groovement!
Gates open 6:30pm for all three nights.
