This twin bill is a Skankster's Paradise for sure as both bands have been involved with the Society for almost 20 years.Tickets on sale Friday, November 18th at 9am PT on ticketweb.ca. Hard copies will be available in the coming weeks. Early show! Doors: 6:30pm/Curfew: 9:30pm
For those of you that have been going to Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival and our year round shows for years or even decades, you'll know the Mad Caddies by now. For those of you that don't know, the Mad Caddies' (Solvang, California) music is both melodic and harmonic and makes you want to sing along. Although rooted in ska, Mad Caddies love punk, reggae, Dixieland jazz, Latin, polka and sea shanties ("Weird Beard"). They have released have released 6 studio albums, 2 EPs and a live album. In addition to their three Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival appearances the Mad Caddies have toured extensively across the USA, Europe, Japan, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and South America. Their most recent full-length release, Punk Rocksteady, was released on June 15th 2018 and was produced by Fat Mike. In 2020 the Caddies released a 5 song EP titled "House on Fire" on Fat Wreck Chords.
The Steadies are a band with a fist full of heart and soul that followed their musical passion and continue to spread it everywhere they go. They don't just like reggae... They love it! The Steadies ’ frontman Earl Pereira got his rock n’ roll pedigree as a founding member of the highly successful Canadian band Wide Mouth Mason, who had three gold records, three Juno nominations, and a host of other accolades and awards. Pereira has toured the world, playing over 3000 shows and opening for iconic artists like The Rolling Stones, Alanis Morissette, AC/DC, and Nelly Furtado. He was named one of Canada’s top bass players by Canadian Music Magazine and has been featured on MTV, Muchmusic, and the Ryan Seacrest Show, as well as in publications like Rolling Stone Magazine and The National Post.
We are so happy to have The Steadies back with us after their performance at the last Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival in 2022. They are all so much fun to dance to and be around on and off the stage.
