A note from Cat:

"The music you will hear tonight is both inspired by the free form jazz of the late 60’s and a personal expression of how I feel the resurgence of civil rights is upon us. It is marked with influences of Alice Coltrane and the late music of her husband, John Coltrane. Her strength, freedom of expression, and ability to channel the universal consciousness through music is my inspiration.

I am producing an album of this music to be released January 20, 2017 (US Inauguration Day). All proceeds from album sales will go directly to the ACLU - American Civil Liberties Union - who pledge to continue to fight for civil rights.

DONATIONS FROM THIS CONCERT will directly fund the production costs of making the album so we can get right to putting the money where it is needed, the ACLU. Upon release date of the album, you will also be able to download liner notes detailing ideas about the impact of music on social climate (and vice versa) as well as concrete ways the ACLU can make a difference in the United States and globally. This project is not anti-anything. It is pro progress and positive change for human rights domestically and internationally.

NOTE: For my Canadian audience. The lives of our neighbours impact us all in various real ways. I ask, as a Canadian residing in America, to please consider supporting this music and the ACLU. Visit aclu.org to see their work on women's rights, LGBT rights, voting rights, privacy protection, equality, religious freedom, freedom on speech and more. Thank you for your consideration."
