Event Description
FIver“Fiver is the solo project of Toronto-born and raised singer and songwriter Simone Schmidt, known for fronting The Highest Order (a band that just released its debut album, If It’s Real, back in March, 2013) and the acclaimed country outfit One Hundred Dollars. No matter which name she is performing under, two strengths of Schmidt’s that immediately arrest you are that voice – awesome and haunting, strong as oak but sanded with sublime vulnerability – and the palpable Dust Bowl-thick instrumental air that fleshes out the mood of every song. Each is so commanding that it’s a testament to her gifts for bleak, poetic firepower and sure-handed nuance that neither crumbles under the magnitude of the other.”

HANK PINE
Hank Pine started as writer. Then a painter. That led to comics, where a balance was found. This led to doing posters for musicians, which led to forming a band of his own, Touring the world with the band based upon his comics soon followed. From that he started to make music videos for his band, which led to theatrical productions based upon the live rock show. This led to big paintings for backdrops and murals, which begat illustration work for money. This in turn led to more travels, which brought adrenaline, joy and loss. This led to him writing about all of these adventures for some magazines, which led back to writing, where we started.
