VAMPIRE BATS
The Vampire Bats draw their influences from 80's Post Punk, Early Goth and Dark Garage Punk however the bands pop sensibilities shine through. They’re celebrating the video for their new single "Baby Libertine" (featuring Jordy Birch). The Vampire Bats’ manifesto is driven by the desire for songs that aren't afraid to express opinions and deal with real subject matter! They believe that True Art really matters and demand a return of the style, romance, darkness and indolence that once made music matter.

POLLY
Royal City rock n' roll from regional guitar whiz Paul Leahy (No Fun/Transvestimentals) has just launched debut CD "All Messed Up" - the Georgia Straight commented
"Leahy’s sneery, smirky, snarly bitch-in-heat vocals and glowing guitar tone perfectly suit the form, and there’s a pulsing, sexy bounce..." and The Province picked it as CD of the Week
“Ronson’s lead guitar lines and his riffs engaged in a dialogue with Bowie’s melodies. Ditto, All Messed Up. Here, Polly also touches on Be Bop Deluxe,
Queen, T Rex and Sweet."

BUDOKAN
BUDOKAN (Victoria) play hook-filled songs with loud guitars that they want people to love and remember. They draw inspiration from all the greats. Well respected NYC rock mag The Big Takeover say "if you like your power pop served up straight and proper, I can't imagine you'll find a better example of the classic sound than this album. The very
name, of course brings to mind the mighty Cheap Trick, and Budokan has plenty of Rick Nielsen's crunch in their guitars, but we also get echoes of the Plimsouls,
Raspberries and even atouch of Redd Kross from these Canadian pop veterans. Being influenced by others is valid if they are all great bands and Budokan does it right. Looking for a little something to pick you up? I think this is just the thing.”

CHINA SYNDROME
A rockin’ melodic power pop band — combination of the driving pop hooks of The New Pornographers and Guided By Voices with liberal dollops of old favourites such as XTC
and the Replacements.
”absolutely solid, songwriter-intensive slab of catchy, muscular Vancouver
power pop.” says New York's Big Takeover magazine.
