About Susan Nase

SUSAN NASE is a tap dancer, Scottish highland dancer and singer. Born and raised in the prairies of Canada, Susan discovered her love of dance at age five with her first tap class. Throughout her childhood and adolescence she experimented with many forms of dance including tap, highland, jazz, ballet, ballroom and swing. She also studied voice, piano and guitar and was drawn to a wide spectrum of musical styles varying from jazz, pop, rock to world grooves.

In 2008 she moved to New York City to follow her passion of dance and music full time. During her 4.5 year stay in NYC she was blessed to work with and learn from some of the world's best tap dancers and musicians. Her tap credits include the US tour of Thank You Gregory!, New York City's Tap City Tap Festival, Tap Extravaganza, and A Shared Evening with Michelle Dorrance and Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards. Susan performed with Max Pollak's troupe RumbaTap and has traveled to international festivals in Turkey, USA, Brazil and Greece to perform and study world and body music. Susan became a regular guest tap dancer with NYC based, jazz/Latin/world band Banda Magda and was featured in a video for www.congahead.com with Banda Magda, produced by Martin Cohen, founder of Latin Percussion (LP). Susan currently lives, performs and teaches in Vancouver BC. www.susannase.com
