Event Description
Come on out to the Cambie, and do what we always do: Have fun, drink lots of beer and dance the night away. The Party on High Street:
Founded in Nelson, B.C. four years ago, The Party on High Street is a trippy musical navigation through rockin’ blues grooves, jazzy feel-good improvisations and mid-song funk downs. They are continually conjuring up original psychedelic FUN-rock and refreshing “anything goes” music to treat the soul.
Rockin’ both acoustic and electric sets, Party songs tell tales of traveling, far-out adventures and peculiar life stories. This party supports creativity, community and extraordinary invention. Bringing people together with the power of music is what they’re all about!
The Party's unique sound rides a groove provided by funkafied blues bassist Brin (Jammin’) Porter, and drummer Nicholas Houghton, who have enjoyed a long history of jamming together. Guitarist Travis (T-Rav) Charuk paints in and outside these lines with a liquid combination of sharp funk rhythms, warm feel-good leads and tasty psychedelic effects. These voices carry a powerful tune! Brin, Nick and T-Rav all sing and write music, yet are always prepared to break into an unexpected jam or hip-hop freestyle if the mood strikes. Available for house concerts, bar gigs, festivals and everything in between, they are always ready to party!
