Event Description
SING WITH US!Call to reserve your audition time (250-721-0856)
Every young singer, and his or her family, has personal musical goals.
Perhaps you're looking for:
- opportunities to perform in exclusive events and concerts, and with respected artists;
- a new singing challenge, and the vocal theory and training to conquer that challenge;
- greater self-confidence;
- social experiences that teach teamwork, respect, and motivation;
- a fun way to use and develop your natural vocal talents to their fullest!
We're proud to say that our youth choir program offers all of the above.
During the season, our Concert Choir and Apprentice Choir learn a variety of masterpieces and modern arrangements that teach vocal technique at an international-performance level.
Balancing structure and a sense of playfulness with music, our Artistic Director and Music Director use their wealth of expertise to ignite a passion for singing that goes beyond many of the life skills learned in other children's programs.
As our chorister's abilities to deliver stunning music grow, so does their deep knowledge and affection for all music - an appreciation easily shared among families as a whole.
Auditions allow our Artistic Director and Music Director to evaluate potential Choristers for our Concert or Apprentice Choir.
Successful kids and teens are often keen to contribute to the choir, as well as have a good musical ear, pleasant voice in terms of resonance and breath support, and an ability to read language.
With numerous rehearsals, performances, camps, and tours, it's important that Choristers are in good physical health to fully participate in Choir activities. We also find that children who are self-reliant and have strong social skills relate well to their peers, our staff, partners, volunteers, and their Directors - and enjoy their experience the most.
Young people ages 8-15 are invited to audition, and should come prepared with:
- their favourite song to perform;
- a head shot or photograph;
- enthusiasm!
During your audition you will meet our Directors and learn about our Choir, and we'll get to know more about you and your talents!
