Event Description
IMU presents HARMA WHITE, The HUTCHISON EFFECT, MATTHEW MEI with YOU BRIGHT MINDS & The GRIZZ @ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir . Doors 9pm / Purchase advance tickets online @ http://www.imuproductions.com/tixHARMA WHITE brings heavy doses of party rock, blues and soul along with a strong passion for getting crowds moving and rocking out. Reviving a long lost tradition of keeping sounds raw and real, they've won over concert goers and musicians alike. Consistent gigging and hard work has kept the trio creating and pushing the boundaries of their sound while sharing stages with bands like Finger 11 and You Say Party We Say Die! A tight example of uncontrollable energy, Harma White continues to move forward with the release of their debut self released EP, "Reptile!". http://www.myspace.com/harmawhite
The HUTCHISON EFFECT - Intense, melodic and groovy, The Hutcheson Effect is a conveniently-timed supergroup composed of the scattered remains of many now-defunct local bands who've come together in the name of funk, jazz, rock and ass-shaking!
MATTHEW MEI with YOU BRIGHT MINDS - Drawing from childhood exposure to folk, gospel and church music along with later preferences for blues, alternative and jazz, Matthew Mei brandishes a charismatic blend of blues, rock, folk and hip hop. Having traveled the world as the son of a preacher man, his initial introduction to the world of music was his dad's old records, but it was his struggles in life and his soulful growth that fueled his desire to write emotional and heartfelt songs that channel the highs and lows of human experience. http://www.matthewmei.com
The GRIZZ sprang to life from the ashes of a cancelled jam session of another Vancouver band, The Sicks. With a penchant for getting really high and embarking on mind-expanding space jams, the power trio has been hard at work writing material, honing their sound and getting ready to rock. They've also recently made the decision to be really loud. http://www.myspace.com/thegrizzband
