Event Description
Late show: Minute Funk Xmas show! featuring OLD ROGER, NO OTHER WAY, TROPHY WIFE and SHOCKLOADOLD ROGER:
Old Roger makes music; calculated, yet in the moment. By fusing their favourite influences ranging from rock, metal, and punk, and extending their genre into an array of blues, jazz, funk, psychedelic, and classical sounds, Old Roger strives to capture the feelings and thoughts that define who they are, and what surrounds them.
TROPHY WIFE:
Trophy Wife put the mental back in instrumental, combining shredding guitar solos, funk bass, Latin rhythms into a contagious blend that has garnered fans at venues across Western Canada. Trophy Wife is prog-rock in it's most virtuosic and shamelessly entertaining form. Foregoing a singer to steal all the glory for themselves, Trophy Wife dazzles the ear, pleases the eye, moves the ass and melts the faces of every audience member lucky enough to witness such an intense musical spectacle.
NO OTHER WAY:
The rest of us brew up a cesspool in our cheap hotel room for 2 nights. Picture “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” except our choice drugs are Ibuprophen, Tylenol Cold and Flu, Luke's horse pills, Cranberry Juice, and Hot’n’Sour Soup. We have self-quarantined into a dodgy motel room in Regina. Our symptoms fluctuate between aching bodies, congestion, fever, sore throats. It’s lovely.
SHOCKLOAD:
They may not have known the name right off the bat but when Guy McDonald (power trip, dreads of flesh, eat my axe wound) moved to Vancouver to join longtime friend and musical companion Ryan Pernsky (power trip, kingz of sleez, fiasco) in an effort to build the most exciting project to date, everything fell together in winning fashion! First on the list of things to do would be to enlist a skilled drummer. Enter Jamieson Cleary (vancouver killing spree, the split-up's) as the man with the right attitude, skills and connections to fill the spot solid as a rock! Now known as SHOCKLOAD this crew is slaying crowds and stages alike with their own brand of exciting rock and roll!!
