Event Description
A rootsy triple threat is about to invade Fernwood's Orange Hall on July 8th. A convergence of three artists who are just similar enough to be on the same bill and distinct enough to offer a spicy variety of intimate performances on a Victoria summer evening: (1) Engaging melodic storyteller Auto Jansz, known equally for her work with iconic local folk group Barley Wik, (2) the eclectic Andrea June, who offers a refreshing hybrid of blues, folk, and R&B, and (3) folk-noir troubadour James Kasper, accompanied by long-term collaborator Geoff Howe and perhaps the busiest percussionist roots in town, Brad Hawkes.Orange Hall, with its natural warm acoustics and cozy vibe, is the ideal setting for this special roots rendezvous which helps to kick off what promises to be a full slate of summer music in Victoria.

"With the burning wail of his harmonica and his smouldering lyrics, Kasper artfully wrenches empathy from listeners...the noir side adds depth of character and individuality to his music, helping to distinguish him from the thousands of other singer-songwriters in the country roots genre."
Nereida Fernandes - exclaim! magazine
"Auto's songs have all the classic virtues of roots music while sounding fresh and contemporary, never lapsing into stolid folk puritanism.”
-Randy Gelling, 101.9FM CFUV.
"Andrea June is haunting while jazzy folk" - 101.9FM CFUV
