Event Description
Heavily influenced by alternative, 80's, atmospheric and various indie-pop sounds; Low Spin projects a style that has been repeatedly described as "alternative dark-pop". With melodic and poetic lyrics along with synths, strings, samples and catchy beats, this local Vancouver band brings sweet sorrow with a slight edge to a dreamy dancefloor. Just finishing recording their debut EP with local hero Howard Redekopp (Tegan & Sara, Mother Mother, New Pornographers), Low Spin is coming out of the burrows to bring forth their infectious sound. We Need Surgeryis a band formed in South Korea. Since early 2007 the band played the Asian live circuit based in Seoul, where it had a major impact on the local Indie music scene. The band was one of garageband.com's highest-rated bands in 2008. In addition to becoming one of the most popular live bands in Korea, We Need Surgery spawned and encouraged many Korean bands and musicians who have started to play the band’s brand of "retro dance punk".
