Event Description
Music to my ears! The Ruffled Feathers:

It began with the young mandolin playing existentialist Charley Wu singing anthems with a loop pedal in the Gallery Lounge at the University of British Columbia. There he stumbled upon the soft-spoken sparrow Gina Loes. in October of 2008. He invited her to travel through the woods with him to sing songs at the piano in his birdhouse. Together they made beautiful music and stretched their wings so wide that in January of 2009 they spotted the gilded melodies of trumpeter Andrew Lee sparkling through the skyscrapers and trees. With a few gathered sticks and battered bows Sam MacKinnon and Matty Jeronimo emerged from their nests on drums and bass and stitched together the heavenly and earthly sounds for the many tuneful evenings that would lay ahead.
Julia and Her Piano:

Twenty-two year old Julia McDougall grew up in southern Saskatchewan in a town the size of a thumb tack. She grew up with a passion for music, began playing local shows when she was fifteen years old, and continues to play across Canada. Julia's songs can only be defined as her own: her lyrics are powerful, honest, and true to her prairie heritage. Currently, Julia lives in Vancouver, BC and studies music and Simon Fraser University
Katie Schaan:

Katie has just released her debut album which was recorded in her hometown of Victoria, but she takes any chance at playing music she can get. When she’s not on tour or playing shows of her own, you’ll often find her with her cello or singing backups on stage or in the studio with other up and coming BC artists such as Steph MacPherson, Vince Vaccaro, Aidan Knight, and Cindy Davis.
Thomas Kolb: (of 41st and Home)
