GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS - Premier purveyors of alcoholic circus music, this London UK-based three piece is equally adept at power trio riffing as they are producing string-laden baroque outsider music. PAINTED CITIES create compelling, inventive songs that draw from a wide range of musical styles to form a unique blend of funk, folk, rock and jazz with lyrics that often deal with heavier topics such as relationships, culture and politics. ELEPHANT TRAIN has been around for nearly two years, gaining a respectable following by playing shows throughout Vancouver. Their sound touches on a wide variety of genres and styles, combining funky licks that make the girls cry with a solid, lickity-split havoc that brings out the boogie in people.
