Event Description
Saturday, August 7th:GENTLE INFIDELS, DANNY ECHO, ARCTIC, WE LANDED ON THE MOON
THE GENTLE INFIDELS: With a series of handmade guitars, a fretless bass and a cello, The Gentle Infidels offer a unique take on contemporary folk music. They draw influence from Led Zeppelin and The Tea Party, Burt Jansch and Leo Kotke. The Gentle Infidels take the energy of a symphony and compress it down into three instruments.

DANNY ECHO: “Yet another local (Vancouver) band that seems to have appeared out of nowhere, Danny Echo has a sense of drama... It also defies labels and eras, owing a little something to the various influences from the 1970s onward, yet defiantly apart. Danny Echo might be an example of the band described by what it isn't. Not punk, post-wave, emo, Britpop etc., but with appealing vocals and instrumentation that develops.” - The Province

ARCTIC: Haunting and moody with a hypnotic groove, ARCTIC conjures up chilly northern landscapes and intensely rich, layered space rock with their unique blend of electronic & acoustic sound that's been called "Metric meets Neil Young" and "ethereal art-rock akin to Radiohead or Fleet Foxes".

WE LANDED ON THE MOON!: Sounds like Blondie if Blondie hadn’t spent the last half of their career covering island kitsch or trying to rap. Combines sizzling guitars and thumping heartbeat rhythms balanced by Eccles’ expressive vocals and melded together with the subtle touches of handclaps, harmonies and fender rhodes piano. Chock full of trademark catchy hooks and the band’s flair for the dramatic, the result will rattle in your headphones like a big dancey washing machine.
