Event Description
. Friday, July 9th IMU presents The ELECTRIC DEMONS TRIBUTE SHOW featuring Dusty from KILL MATILDA, Linda and Sonny from LITTLE GUITAR ARMY and Connie and Oleg from SISTER SABBATH and MY OWN CHAOS + guests KILL MATILDA & MYSTERY POINT . Early show 8-11pm sharp @ The Bourbon, 50 West Cordova / Purchase advance tickets directly via the bands and online @ www.imuproductions.comJoin us this special evening as we honour the memory of Tarja "Thundermonkey" Ridgewell, a bright star who shone memorably but far too briefly in the local music scene as lead singer of The Electric Demons. The remaining band members will be joined by the singers of Sister Sabbath, Kill Matilda, East Vamps and Little Guitar Army in a stellar homage to Tarja.
The ELECTRIC DEMONS - Infused with catchy, melodic vocals and virtuoso guitars, The Electric Demons emerged with killer chops and a unique hard rock/metal sound as heard on their debut CD "Rip Your Heart Out!". Tarja's signature powerhouse vocals bring to mind a pissed-off Chrissie Hynde or raging Janis Joplin, maintaining a full-blown punk roar in the face of thunderous musical accompaniment. http://www.myspace.com/TheElectricDemons
KILL MATILDA pours a high-energy, adrenaline-infused shot of thrashing guitar riffs, pounding rhythm, intelligent lyrics and snarling-to-sweet vocal melodies. With hints of punk and metal, this tough as nails band has blown out the eardrums of audiences from UBC to East Hastings, summoning the ghosts of grunge and dynamic grrl-rock. http://www.myspace.com/KillMatilda
MYSTERY POINT is a four-piece rock band from White Rock, originally known as Long Story Short. With a mix of alternative, punk, pop, jazz, ska and acoustic, their versatile sound directly reflects their expansive scope of influences. Mystery Point transcends the limits of conventional music, mixing bits and pieces from their diverse backgrounds while offering their own unique sound that anyone can appreciate. http://www.myspace.com/MysteryPointMusic
