Event Description
The BeigeThe Beige is an atmospheric pop-jazz quintet. Subtle, moody and complex, the new album, El Ángel Exterminador, is "a spooky dust storm of Latin-tinged drinking songs, work songs, love songs and death songs that would fit nicely on the record shelf alongside Calexico and Howe Gelb" (Michael Kissinger, Vancouver Courier). Serious music, with literary trappings, but it knows a good groove when it hears one.
The Great Outdoors
‘Something old, something new. Something borrowed, something blue.’ The Great Outdoors is a marriage of sorts, a melding of styles, a pairing of influences that run deep and long beneath us all. An ever-changing line-up of great players back up the melancholy lilt of Adam Nation’s voice. Stories of love. Stories of death. Stories.
Cloudsplitter
Formed in 2009 by ex-Buttless Chaps front man Dave Gowans,
Cloudsplitter is a textural and atmospheric take on No Depression
country folk rock.
Rounded out by the rhythm section of Jesse Gander and Stephen Lyons,
as well as multi-instrumentalist Doug Liddle, Cloudsplitter have
shared stages with the Handsome Family, Cuff the Duke, and many others.
