About the Snocore lineup:
PROTEST THE HERO
Protest The Hero are making their mark on the hard rock, hardcore, heavy metal and postwhatever scenes, thanks to the progressive, metallic, and so‐far‐left‐of‐center‐that‐it‐hangs‐out-at‐dangerously‐close‐to‐the‐warning‐track music on their latest album, Fortress. PTH formed seven years ago in their hometown of Whitby, Ontario, when they were just 14‐years old. They spent weekends, holiday breaks and summers on the road and on the very same day they graduated from high school ‐ began a headlining tour of their home turf. While spending their formative years in a van playing shows, they also released an indie EP called A Calculated Use Of Sound, which was followed by their 2005 debut, Kezia, which wowed critics and introduced fans to the band’s mature‐beyond‐their‐years technical skills, passionate delivery, and outspoken nature. All of this activity culminates in the fiery metallic furnace that is Fortress, the band’s second effort for Vagrant Records. Ultimately, the members of PTH want to take their band as far as they can, and they have no delusions of grandeur nor do they harbor throwin’‐a‐TV‐out‐a-hotel‐room‐window rock star fantasies. And it’s that refreshing, unjaundiced look at music that will help take them take the band wherever they want it to go. “We tour our faces off, and we throw the shit at the wall and hope it sticks,” Walker says without hesitation. “We don’t care about the status quo and the paradigms. We don’t make cash and we don’t care for cash. People like ourselves are no better than people watching the music. We’re the same.” It’s that attitude, combined with smart yet heavier‐than‐granite music, which puts Protest The Hero miles ahead of their peers.

THESET
Rock outfit TheSet are far from newcomers to the Canadian music scene. With two independent album releases notched on their belt and thousands of miles of asphalt under their feet the Victoria, BC natives have been building the buzz on the west coast tour circuit the past few years, drawing ever larger audiences and much media attention along the way. Martin
MacPhail, Tristan Tarr and Dean Rode are now poised to take TheSet to the next level with their Wax Records debut release Monsters due out June 2010. The Julius "Juice" Butty, (Alexisonfire, Protest The Hero) produced outing perfectly captures the explosive intensity of TheSet's live performances which Canadian rock fans will bear witness to when the band hits the road March 23rd as part of the Snocore tour. Listen for the band's massive first single, "Already Know" coming to your local rock radio station in April.

HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS
Hawthorne Height’s career has been pretty eventful since breaking out of Dayton, OH, with 2004’s platinum debut, The Silence in Black and White, on the heels of MTV and VH1 airplay for the single, “Ohio is for Lovers.” The 2006 gold follow‐up, If Only You Were Lonely, debuted at #3 on the Billboard Album charts, producing the Top 10 Modern Rock smash, “Saying Sorry.” On Nov. 24, 2007, the world of Hawthorne Heights was turned upside‐down when they discovered the body of guitarist Casey Calvert on their tour bus, dead from an accidental mixture of prescription drugs. A long, protracted legal fight with their label was finally settled resulting in the release of last year’s Fragile Future, a highly personal album that dealt in large part with the group’s reaction to the death of their band mate. Hawthorne Heights now emerge from a self-imposed isolation with their eagerly awaited debut album for Wind‐up Records, produced by Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Daughtry, My Chemical Romance) at his Bay 7 Studios in Valley Village. The album is an unflinching look at what has brought them to this place, executed with a firm desire to make the best of what they see as an opportunity for renewal by expanding their musical palette. The band will bring their memorable live performance to Canada for Snocore 2010.

ELIAS
Vancouver's Elias have just released their brand new album, Lasting Distraction, on Wax Records. The band's latest project is bound to raise a few eyebrows. Having already toured extensively alongside a number of notable acts (Shad, Pilot Speed, The Subways) they join the Snocore 2010 tour. Lasting Distraction was produced by all‐star duo Sean Penner and Aaron Nordean (Hot Hot Heat) and mixed by Mike Fraser (Franz Ferdinand, ACDC). It features the band's unique atmospheric rock in a fresh and energetic light that is mirrored in their extremely dynamic live sets. The band's debut single "All We Want" can currently be heard at rock stations across the country.
