Event Description
. Friday, November 6th IMU presents LIKE A MARTYR, CITIZENS FOR AIRPLANES & TARL @ The Bourbon, 50 West Cordova . Early show 8-11pm sharp / Purchase advance tickets online @ www.imuproductions.comLIKE A MARTYR showcase a freight train of roaring guitars, thunderous vocals and pulsating rhythms combined with shimmering harmonies, memorable melodies and the lost art of the guitar solo. Their versatile sound is influenced by the raw power of Motorhead, the stripped-down blues of Muddy Waters, the primal stomp of the White Stripes and the swagger and conviction of Bruce Springsteen. Their debut full-length "The North" is a diverse collection of powerful and memorable rock tunes that range from raucous and exuberant to emotional and reflective. Like A Martyr is an anxiety-driven neurotic, striving for perfection, drinking and laughing all the while, thumping, clapping, rejoicing, staggering and stomping to their rightful place in the rock n roll mosaic!
CITIZENS FOR AIRPLANES - Built on captivating songwriting and inspiring, high energy shows, Citizens For Airplanes meshes addictive choruses with a fresh take on established rock elements into songs that demand repeating. Their live performances radiate a blinding chemistry, giving the impression that they've been playing together for years, with capacity crowds dancing and singing along at numerous local venues. Breaking away from the usual teenage angst songs, their songs boast a wealth of captivating guitar and keyboard riffs, playful and reflective lyrics with occasionally cheeky overtones, and tight, anthemic harmonies. Driving bass lines provide escape for listeners weary of the redundant music encounters of typical commercial songs, while heavy back beats encourage vigorous head bobbing and hip movement. http://www.myspace.com/citizensforairplanes

"Tarl has limitless potential, not only as a performer, but as a great singer/songwriter. It's time to bring his music to the masses, where it belongs" -- Tommy Mac / Hedley http://www.myspace.com/tarlsmusic
