Event Description
. Friday, October 16th IMU presents ANALOG BELL SERVICE Tour Kick Off Party w/ special guests FUR BEARING ANIMALS & PAINTED CITIES @ PUB 340, 340 Cambie Street . Doors 9pm / Purchase advance tickets online @ www.imuproductions.comANALOG BELL SERVICE - A high voltage dose of up-tempo, poppy art rock with dense three-part vocal harmonies, pockets of ambience and fanciful lyrics grooving to a distant land. Two brother painters, a cartoonist, a sculptor and an actor began sharing an artist's studio in Vancouver's Chinatown. Inspired by the musical instruments littering the room, they left their artistic mediums behind to forge a brilliant new sound. http://www.myspace.com/analogbellservice
FUR BEARING ANIMALS survive by stockpiling electro beats, funky melodies and inspirational lyrics to craft songs that express the contrasts of their northern environment. Their vintage guitars, '80s synth, electro beats and jazz violin combine to light up any dance floor. Constantly outspoken and involved in community events, they promote socioeconomic change while filling rooms and ruffling feathers. http://www.myspace.com/furbearinganimals
PAINTED CITIES create compelling, inventive songs that draw from a wide range of musical styles to form a unique blend of funk, folk, rock and jazz with lyrics that often deal with heavier topics such as relationships, culture and politics. Their infectious, danceable tunes have been heard at venues ranging from music festivals to all-ages community halls to the grittiest bars of downtown Vancouver. http://www.myspace.com/paintedcities
