Event Description
Oscar (Formerly Acidwash) was formed in 2004 in Victoria BC, Canada. The Lineup consists of Colin Piazza (Vocals, Guitar), Alex Purves (Guitar, Vocals), Reuben Ellis (Drums), and Brett Frankson (Bass)Since 2004' the band has managed to play nearly every Venue on Vancouver Island and the surrounding area, understanding that it takes hard work and dedication to gain exposure.
In August of 2007' Oscar recorded an album with Engineer/Producer Michael Collinge and Mastering Engineer Jamie Sitar of Suite Sound Labs.
Oscar recently played the first annual Pemberton Music festival put on by Livenation. The Festival played host to many bands such as The Tragically Hip, Sam Roberts, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Petty and Jay-Z. The Festival Attracted over 40 thousand fans over 3 days and provided an excellent platform for exposure.
Oscar is currently Playing shows in and Around the Victoria area and will be hitting the road in January of 09' to Alberta. The band will also be playing a Cross Canada tour to Montreal in the summer of 09'. Oscar will be heading back into the studio in in the new year to record/release new material.
Bridges and Breakdowns was formed in October of 2007 with the intentions of changing the face of live music forever. Frontman Tay MacRae’s rock-driven vocals and acoustic stylings backed by lead guitarist Kris DeLange’s mind-blowing riffs are the best of both worlds when it comes to their sound. Tyson McLellan holds down the air-tight rhythm on bass while Jay Graham keeps the beat on the drums.
With their 3-song demo and merchandise selling faster than it can be printed, along with selling out every show they have played with a loyal fanbase, and a healthy relationship with venue owners, B&B know how to keep the party going by ensuring the crowd becomes part of the show and interactivity is at an all-time high when they take the stage. You will never encounter a dull moment while B&B is lighting up the room.
The guys of the band have had their fair share of experiences with music, as all of them have had past stints with either solo acts on their own, or in other local bands such as Hollow Logo, Freds Fear, Kersey, and Versaille. B&B is literally made up of the prime selection of talent from the area and it shows in their performances.
Aside from becoming an instant sensation in the local scene, the men also have great personalities and make new friends and fans at every show. Always welcoming other bands to join the lineup, and promoting the local music scene in the community is one of the top priorities in the group.
B&B has just finished recording a 6-song EP entitled "3600" at The Farm Studios in Vancouver, under legendary rock Producer/Engineer Gggarth Richardson.
All in all, Bridges and Breakdowns is ready to take the next steps to spread the sound, and the expeirience of their live act to the rest of the world and be heard by anyone willing to have a great time, a memorable journey, and a musical friendship that will last a lifetime.
